Program highlights

  • Pick an area of concentration: obstetrics (with or without C-sections), sports medicine, geriatrics, hospitalist, palliative, addiction, POCUS or lifestyle medicine; name yours and ask how it is scheduled.
  • Osteopathic Recognition: DO applicants should discuss OMM clinics, integrated OMM appointments in the office schedule and the inpatient OMM experience.
  • Underserved outreach: mention interest in the faculty-run Plain Health (Amish) Program and Prenatal Center and ask how residents get involved.
  • Quality improvement: ask about the Providers for Responsible Ordering chapter (transfusions, labs, labor induction cost) and IMPLiCIT preterm birth work.
  • OB-heavy training: two months of obstetrics in both PGY-1 and PGY-2, plus student OB clerkships that give residents teaching experience.
  • Ask about the relationship with the rural program, since PGY-1 rural residents train alongside this program.
