Hello,
I'd like to know if B1 is a good choice to apply for taking step 2cs, and if so, why everybody stick to more difficult visas? |

that is the only visa you can get to come here (if one is not eligible for any type of visa).
usually getting b1 visa is considered toughest, though you will notice people make a big deal of anything in life.  |
