Hi,
I need to be prepared for Scramble. Please help me clarify these questions:
1) Should we use ERAS site to apply to programs in scramble or should we call them directly and send them faxes?
2) Do we need to get back any documents from ERAS for scramble? I have copies of LORs and ECFMG Certificate. Do we need USMLE transcript?
3) Is there any good website that we can use for sending fax?
4) Anything else that could be helpful for the scramble process....
Thanks

1) Should we use ERAS site to apply to programs in scramble or should we call them directly and send them faxes?
A: yes, you should use ERAS site as well as make phone calls to as many as PDs as possible. Normally you should try to have contacts with some residents in some colleges. The colleges get the vacancies info one day before the candidates get the info so generally friends (who are residents) would be of great help
2) Do we need to get back any documents from ERAS for scramble? I have copies of LORs and ECFMG Certificate. Do we need USMLE transcript?
A: No. you dont get any documents for the scramble. Yes, fax all the documents to the colleges that may be interested in it.
3) Is there any good website that we can use for sending fax?
A: you should consider getting a fax line at home for a month and send all the faxes from home. That would be most reliable. Other options are to consider PC2Fax software that could do the trick as well.
4) Anything else that could be helpful for the scramble process....
A: try to find people who could help you - like professors who can call other PDs and recommend you, like friends and relatives who can be an extra hands on the busy day. |
