Other things I remeber

I also had questions with sonic hedgehog gene, bone morphogenetic proteins, and sry genes and luckly for me I knew these because I know step 1 is big on genetics.
And also whenever they could use a picture, diagram or chart instead of words they did it that’s why my exam had like 80percent of question associated with some kind of drawing.
Tons of questions with transgenic mice –no idea what they were.
They gave me a question about an Ig, and it took me a while to figure out it was the Y shape of an Ig because instead of lines for the chains they used lots of little circles interconnected.
And also the question with the constriction of efferent arteriole, I knew all the arrows going in all the directions but the question had like 5 or 6 choice using words Normal, Greater than Normal, Less than Normal and so forth and it took me a while to change from the arrows to the words too, but that was just because I was tired. This is why I am stressing be sure you are all rested when you go to the exam.
Bottom line – have no idea what they are trying to test on Step 1. I know though that most of the questions are not one step reasoning, they go beyond that. I did not have questions with except, more/less likely, the difference between x and y, the following feature is not a characteristic of….and so forth.
