need advice for match...

I'm an IMG and I'v just cleared my CS and about to finish CK, will be taking stp1 shortly... Passed out of medical school 3 yrs back, I'v 2yr clinical experience in general practice in India. is there any hope for me to match this yr? if so which specialities? I'm not very stringent about visa(J1/H1) nor the speciality, just hoping to get into residency sooner. Also is there any hassle around interviews or joining in case i'm pregnant/ or need leaves?

you have better chances as you are fine with any type of visa. But without the knowhow of how much marks you have got, it is tough to predict.

There are usually leaves that are allowed in residency. The number of days vary hospital to hospital. I would advise that you are not in the fifth or later month of residency when going for interview, some PDs may not like that. But other than that, you are fine.

thx root for ur quick reply.

I was also pondering over the same thing "scores" what u v pointed out...
my documents have been uploaded by eras but I am still in two minds w.r.t. sending application to the programs. consulting with a few known ppl and now u, i'm sending my application to FM n peds programs.
i guess i'm not a very eligible candidate for university programs so hoping community guys consider me. one thing which still bothers me is, is it already too late to apply?

I appreciate ur advice,
keep up the gud work.
