|

I asked for info on the preliminary medicine program at Abington Memorial Hospital. They said in their reply that "all applicants to our preliminary program must be graduates of a US medical school."
Is this a general rule?
I thought that getting into preliminary medicine was going to be easier than getting a categorical position. I am an IMG and need this preliminary year as a requirement to get into another specialty?
Anybody knows something about this? |

| This is generally a rule for preliminary medicine. Most PDs prefer American graduates to foriegn graduates. |

I need a preliminary year in order to get a residence in radiology. I know radiology is tough but I think I have good chances.
Are IMGs getting preliminary positions at all? |

Yes they are tough, but is not as tough as getting a radiology residency. If you are able to get radiology residency, then sure will get a preliminary position. |
