83/86/81/csa 2004 grad passed all first attempt .but step 3 second attempt.12mnths observership. 3 us LOR with research and casereports .
I have to see how it turns out for me this year.
please let me know if I have any chances.

You have reasonable chances to get into IM.
Good points you have:
* Recent graduate
* Completed all steps
* 12 months observership
Bad points you have:
* Average marks
* 2nd attempt in step 3.
I think you should do the following:
* Apply in larger number of hospitals
* It would be good if you are fine with J1 visa
* Generally, PA hospitals will provide more pleasant experience
* Be ready for taking pre-match
* Apply in state you currently reside - generally hospitals favor local candidates.
* If you reside in NY, you will definately get matched; otherwise you have to work hard on interviews.
Other preparation you should continue:
* Go through this website and do everything in NRMP section.
* Prepare for interview and dont forget to send thank you letters. |

hi, root, plz tell, do we send thank u letters after getting interview call also, or after scheduling interview, and to whom? like to PD or PC or both?
