Step 2 CS visa, a few questions??

I have a few visa questions.
1. I want to apply for Step 2 CS visa in Jan 2007. If i get married to a non medico girl before that and she stays back while i go on B1/B2. Does this help in convincing the VO that i'll come back. I ask this cos he'll say that i'm going only temporarily and i'll take her with me later during residency.

2. If i go for residency on J1, she gets J4 or sumthing like that. Can she appear for GRE there. After clearing GRE and getting admission to a course does she have 2 change to F1 visa? If so will she have 2 come back to india and is there a risk for her application for F1 being rejected? What are our options if she's denied F1 visa. Can she revert back to J4??

Answer:
Yes, it could be convincing. The best proof for these interviews are immovable assests/properties in your name and/or some source of income that you could prove that is very much required for your family.

Answer:
I think the spousal visa is J2 and yes it is possible to switch to F visa for her studies. But I donot think she is required to change visa to do her studies. Your wife is eligible to get a EAD which would help her to engage in any profession and/or engage in any studies.

My parents have some immovable properties worth 30-35 lakhs. We are 2 brothers, my brother being elder and also a doctor.

Shud i get d properties tranferred to my name?? My parents would do that only if this is a good proof of my coming back and increases my Step 2 CS visa chances substantially. If i get a property worth 3-4 lakhs, wud it be enuf or 15-20 lakh valued property wud be enuf??? Please tell me what shud i do.

Or is it ok, if they r in name of my parents??

That is a lot of mess to change the properties of your parents to your name. Your parents and/or brother can have a problem with that.

A better idea would be to show some bonafide that you already have a job or you are going to accept a position at your local place. Also, you can reason with them saying that you are the only child in the local place and your brother stay far from home.

In the end, it is all luck! There are no logic in the way they give visas.

I hope you have a big and/or complicated name so that it doesnot match with any of the terrorists names. (A funny thing, Americans believe that terrorists will use their real name to bomb America). That is why Indians are lucky compared to their counterparts in Pakistan.

Hey thanks guest..

But i actually can go through all that if it ACTUALLY helps substantially. My brother has no problems with that. So i want to know its importance...

I thought about the contract with a local hospital. But then d visa people are sharp guys. They wud ask me, y did i sign a contract when i derive no benefit from it!!!! It is a false contratc!!! Then what???

Maybe i'm sounding too apprehensive but then u have to consider all factors when ur career is at stake!!!
