i dont wish to settle in us after doin residency...i wud like to return to india after 2-3 years of practise in US....so for which type of visa shud i apply for???and is it easier to get visa on basis of GRE score then by USMLE??is giving GRE necessary to avoid visa troubles??and 1 more question.....is my residency valid in india....can i practise in india on tat basis.....?

If you wish to return to India, I think J1 visa best suits you because in J1, it is mandatory that you return to your country unless you get a waiver approved. GRE is required for those who wish to get Master's degree through F-1 or student visa. If you don't want to spend your time doing master's, I think it is best to complete your steps and then apply for a residency position through J1 visa. But in J1, you have to return to India as soon as you finish your studies. If you have to work here, then you need H1B visa.
