The fatty acid synthase is just the acetyl-coA carboxylase, and it catalyse the formation of the malonyl-CoA from the acetyl co-A,and the fatty acyl co-A synthase just catalize this reaction:Acetyl-CoA + N malonyl-CoA + 2N
nadh + 2N nadph = a long-chain acyl-CoA + n CoA + n CO(2) + 2N NAD(+) + 2N NADP(+).
That is to say the fatty acid synthase just complete the first step of the fatty acid synthesis, the rest enormous steps would be completed by the
fatty acyl co-A synthase .
this is my e-mail if any Qs,send it to me, and I am also preparing the USMLE ,I am in China. |
