non-medical job

i am a licensed physician in the philippines..i have plans of taking the usmle 1-2years from now..however, i have to look for a temporary job to save for usmle expenses..the problem is, i have no medical-related certifications in the u.s. (and i don't want to spend time and money just to earn these certifications) which makes it hard for me to land a job in the medical field (e.g. physician assistant, medical assistant)..my question is, would it affect my future applications into a residency program (e.g. family practice in new york hospitals) if my work experience in the u.s. is non-medical or so far-far-related from medicine? Question thank you.. Very Happy
