What's the significance if:
1. An institution in general loses ACGME accreditation
2. An institution in general is under probation or unfavorable decision: will all the resdinecy programs of that institution be affected and if so how?
Comparatively what's the significance if A residency program loses accreditation , what's the effect? Does the program close down? if not so can they get board certified?
What happens to the residents of a program that loses accreditation? How are they affected.
Please shed some light if you have any idea.
Thanking you in advance. |

| If the program loses accreditation, the residents are not allowed to sit for the board exam. In some cases, the program closes down, but the program help residents get into another program. It is better if you research the program about their accreditation status before applying to it to avoid unnecessary risks. |
